I am amazed that this time of year comes around so fast… Where does the time go? Just yesterday we were in shorts and complaining about measuring houses in the heat. Now we are on to complaining about having to measuring houses and having to wear gloves… (and then every other day it is not 40, it is 70 again…)

Can You Believe It?

So to sum up the season, I am thankful that I have a job that I like to do, and that my family is healthy, and we have plenty to go around.

There are many out there who are not so lucky. Some who don’t have a job, or worse can’t provide for their families. For some it is the economy, and others it is just timing.

A couple of years ago my family stopped doing Christmas, and just so no one thinks we’re Scrooges, I still put up 6 Christmas trees this year! We did not stop doing the decorating or the celebrating, we just stopped giving unnecessary gifts to each other. We do gifts for the kids, mine are 2 and 4 now, but no one else. Most of the gifts we would give to family were things they would return or put aside and never use anyway… So this year instead of doing my typical donation of money to a local charity, I decided to take it a step further. I chose to get involved and actually return some goodwill to the community at large.

Santa may be a fictional idea, but it is still a good plan to be “good for goodness sake” just in case….
